Sean Sikora is a member of the Monongalia County Commission, elected to his position in November of 2016.
A life-long West Virginian, he was born in Weirton, WV, but has lived in Monongalia County for all of his adult life. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from West Virginia University in 1992 as well as his Masters in Business Administration in 2006, graduating with honors. He also holds dual professional certifications as a Project Management Professional - PMP (October 2012 – Recertified October 2015) and as a Certified Professional Contracts Manager – CPCM (May 2012 – Recertified January 2018).
In addition to his duties as a County Commissioner, Sean has had a very successful 24 year career as a contract employee to the US Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). He has supported NETL in multiple capacities such as Project Manager, Program Area Lead, Program Manager, and Business Operations Manager. His current position is as a Contract Manager for KeyLogic System’s Mission Execution and Strategic Analysis (MESA) Prime Contract with NETL.
On a personal basis he has been very active in the regional community serving on the boards of multiple educational non-profits as well as an active participant and organizer of multiple athletic groups in the Morgantown community. As part of his County Commissioner duties he serves on the following boards and authorities: Monongalia County Development Authority, Morgantown Municipal Airport Runway Extension Development (RED) Team, Morgantown Monongalia Metropolitan Planning Organization, Mason Dixon Historical Park Advisory Board, and the Mylan Park Board of Directors.
Sean lives in the Suncrest area of Morgantown with his wife Jacqueline and daughters Rebekah and Gwenyth.
